Point of origin

With this project, remote control, which has always been neglected so far and which could not pass beyond a box with some buttons on it, was wrapped into an identity for the first time ever.

Simple design with primitive geometry

All of us are under attack from the products in our lives. Our home, our pockets and our tables are filled with electronic equipment, each with an individual desire to show off. Our head begins aching because of all those buttons and details. The simplest possible geometrical forms (arcs, straight lines) were used in Airfel penremote. In this way, the product has a form which makes you feel at ease in the visually polluted environment all around us.

Significant harmony with the hand...

The cylindrical form of Airfel penremote is harmonious with the palm of your hand and the form of the four-way button is compatible with your thumb. In holding an electronic device, our thumb is nearly always free. No matter how big it is or how complicated it is, we push the buttons with our thumbs. With this approach, penremote has a significant harmony with the thumb. You will feel this unique harmony when you take penremote in your hand.

Table stand with a magnet

There is a magnet on the table stand and on the body of the penremote. The table stand eliminates the need to hang the remote control on a wall. The magnet on the product makes the product stand at an appropriate angle for the user.

All functions under a single button

Penremote, with a single four-way button, allows you to access all the settings in your air conditioner. This feature brings great convenience and comfort in the use of the product.

“‘Remotely control… closely feel…’”

Penremote is a thermometer, hygrometer and a table clock. Awareness is important. The user needs to be aware of the room temperature and of the humidity level because what we feel in our real life is a combination of these two values.

Language independent interface

With very few exceptions, words were not used in the interface of penremote. Instead, easily perceived, simple symbols were preferred. No matter what their language, people can use this product without difficulty.

All in one…

Airfel penremote is a universal remote control. With the infrared code of 28 different Airfel air conditioners it can fulfill the function of 28 different controllers at once. With this feature, the product can be sold as a standalone.

For elderly people…...

Elderly people who have always been neglected so far, were targeted with this project. Commonly used features were gathered in a group in the controller. Elderly people can adjust the temperature by tapping up-down buttons when they handle the product even without looking at the screen.

For unsighted people…...

Unsighted people may take the sliding button, behind the penremote, to ‘auto’. In this way the temperature setting is carried out automatically. Each of the four buttons perform a separate function, the need for the user to look at the display disappears.

We believe this to be the slimmest air conditioner remote control in the world.

Telpaş desktop / December 2003

Point of origin

With the Telpaş desktop telephone project it is intended to bring a brand new phone into life using the existing Telpaş components (printed circuit boards, LCD, speaker, microphone and headphones)

About the functionality…

With respect to its intensive use during office hours, the ergonomics of the desktop phone is in the forefront compared with all other phones. Whilst using a desktop phone, people are simultaneously engaged in other tasks. The ability to be used without a glance is an important requirement for a desktop phone. All these criteria were taken into account during the design stage.

In order to eliminate the need for stooping to the product, the interface was oriented to the user.

The handset has a slim structure yet it is highly compatible with the anatomy of the ear, the face and the hand.

There are complementary forms between the handset and the body. Even if you place the handset improperly, the body structure helps to correct the position.

A distinction was made between the location and the structure of the number keys. These keys are able to orient the finger to the proper position without a glance.

About the forms…

The general product has a simple, transparent structure which reflects the inner mechanism to the user. Moreover, this simple structure includes some fine organic details.

The handset corresponds with the human hand and face, as well as being in compliance with the main body. In this project, the handset also has an organic connection with the handset cable.

As a business investment…

Because only currently existing components were used in it, the product is easy to adapt to the existing production line..

This project lead the company to offer a brand new product to their customers with only the cost of the plastic mold investment..

Aksu cafcaf / July 2006

Point of origin

Aksu cafcaf is an electric grill and toaster. By means of this project it is intended to give a new shape to a conventional sandwich toaster.

Compact design

The lines on the body contract while flowing backward. In this way the product and legs behind occupy less space.

Large heating plate

The product is smaller compared with the alternatives. However, the heating plate is large enough to heat as many as four slices of bread at the same time.

Organic transitions

There are organic curves with the same character on the handle, the body and the legs. These curves combine the parts into one common identity and, indirectly, extend the life of the mold by making the metal sheet more pliable.

Close to the main body, curves follow the body curves, while approaching the handle they evolve to fit the hand and finger anatomy. When you grasp cafcaf’s handle you will feel the comfort.

In a similar way, the handle gives birth to the forefoot with further organic transitions.

Setting switch on the leg

The setting switch is on the leg of Aksu cafcaf. The switch is in a position and angle where users can adjust it with ease.

Twofold expandable heater plate

The heating plate on the top can be opened 180 degrees. Thus, the total surface doubles. The sandwich toaster transforms to an electric grill.

Can stand upright when not in use

Aksu cafcaf can be brought into an upright position when not in use. In this way, it saves space on the shelf.

Aksu Grella / June 2003

Point of origin

Aksu Grella is an electric grill. With this project, it is aimed to design an economical, odourless electric grill consisting of as few parts as possible.

Efficient and homogeneous heating

The electric heater was embedded inside the cooking plate. In this way, heat diffuses into the surface efficiently and homogeneously.

Odourless heating

While using Aksu Grella, no oil can make contact with the heating element and it mainly doesn’t burn. Consequently there will be no smell from the heating element.

Usable on dining table or for serving

Aksu Grella does not reflect the heat to the substrate. It is safe and easy to change its place whilst in use. Thus it can be used for serving.

Easy to clean

The Aksu Grella cooking plate is flat and one piece. There is no indentation that might trap leftovers. For this reason it is easy to clean.

Aksu Fitto / June 2002

Point of origin

With this project, it is aimed to design a compact and easy to clean deep fryer with changeable boiler and filter.

Large cooking capacity in a small size

Due to their greater overall size compared with other small household appliances, efficient use of the volume is important in deep fryers.

Aksu Fitto has a cylindrical boiler can. Considering the overall organic form, space between the outer shell and the boiler can is minimal. Thus compared with the alternatives with the same cooking capacity, Aksu Fitto occupies less space on the shelf.

Simple organic lines

Aksu Fitto has simple, organic forms spreading over the entire product. The overall organic lines enable the volume to appear smaller than it actually is.

Large observation window

The observation window was located in the most ideal position and angle over the handle for users to observe fried food without leaning on the product.

Multi purpose handle

There is a button on the handle for fixing the cover to the handle. The cover is opened automatically when the button is pushed.

The basket, which is carried by the handle, can be hung. Cooking oil can be strained, freeing the user’s hands and saving time in the kitchen.

Removable cover

The cover and the filter inside the cover can be removed and can be washed in a dishwasher.

Carrying handle

The carrying handle right below the body helps the product to be shelved for storage.

With this project it is aimed to design a sandwich toaster which satisfies the expectations of Arzum.

Easily accessible setting switch on the front leg

The setting switch is on the front leg of the product so users can easily set the temperature.
